In math this week we will be finishing up our unit on fractions and decimals. We will making equivalent fractions and decimals and comparing them, ordering them, and putting them on a number line. For example, put the following number in order from least to greatest - 3.5, 32/10, 34/100, 31, 3,57. Or, plot the following points on a number line - 1 and 1 tenth, 13/10, 1 and 20 hundredths, 129/100, 1.11, 102/100. The number would show 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 and would be split in to tenths between each number. Next week we will be looking at fractions of time and reviewing in preparation for the test.
In science we will be working through chapter 7 lessons 4 and 5. We will watch a couple of study jams and brain pops, answer questions, and hopefully plant some beans : ) Students will test chapter 7 on 3/2.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I also want to thank you all for your kind words and interest in how I am doing. I am feeling much better and look forward to moving up from here.
Thanks,
