In math this week we are beginning division strategies.  Students will learn the strategies of multiplying up, array model, area model, and partial quotients.  The algorithm for long division is not a 4th grade standard so it will not be covered at this time.

In science we are testing out of our matter unit this Wednesday and we will begin a new unit on energy Thursday.

Math - In math this week we will be reviewing the 4 strategies for multiplication we have learned (area model, partial products, distributive property, standard algorithm).  Students will also be working with multi-step word problems involving adding, subtracting, and multiplying.

Science - We will be completing chapter 4 lesson 5.  Students will also participate in a conservation of mass lab activity.

Social Studies - Over the next several weeks we will be learning about the requirements and tasks associated with being the president of the United States.
