March 29 - April 1

Hello everyone and welcome back!  I hope everyone had a great spring break.  We are now in the last 10 weeks of 4th grade.  I can't believe how fast it has gone by.
I want to thank everyone who supported our spring break math challenge.  I know it was work for both you and your child.  Those who participated fully and had parental support are excited for the pizza lunch and sweet treat!

Important Dates:
March 30 - Early Dismissal
April 1 and April 4 - Math FSA Testing 4th Grade *Please make sure your child is on time to school on these days.  If he/she is not feeling well, please consider make up testing to ensure they do their very best.
April 4 - Food Chain Project Assigned Due 4/15
April 6 - End of 3rd Quarter/4th Grade Labs
April 7 - Spring Pictures
April 8 - Planning Day
April 13 - Early Dismissal
April 14 - Report Cards go home

April 21 and 22 - Reading FSA Testing 4th Grade (computer based test)

In math this week we will be reviewing for the FSA test.  In addition to checking spring packets, we will have a couple of homework practice sheets, review test taking tips and how to use the gridded response table, take a mini-practice test, and do some activities on mathplayground.com.

In science we will be participating in a plants and animals "I Have, Who Has" game and working on choices/visual glossary's.

March 14 - 17

It's hard to believe it is time for Spring Break!!  Your child will be bringing information home regarding some math and reading activities that can be done over break.  Students who complete the assignments (in both math and reading) will be invited to a pizza and dessert party that will include an extra 30 minutes of recess!  We are hoping for 100% participation if possible.

This week in math we will be reviewing for our test on Wednesday.  Students were given a study guide on March 11.  The test will be on Wednesday, March 16.

In science we will continue with some activities from chapter 8.  Students will play a jeopardy game, I Have, Who Has game, a brainpop lesson, and some new choice activities.
