December 7 - 11

Important Dates:

12/7 and 12/8 - Math FSA Scrimmage
12/8 - Progress Reports
12/11 - Night of the Arts - Tastes of the World
12/15 Science chapter 5 Test
12/15 - Students wear blue in recognition of our National Blue Ribbon award
12/17 - Holiday PJ party
12/18 - Last day before winter break


Homework:
Mon -30 min I-Ready due by Friday; Math Superstars due Friday
Tues - Parents sign and return progress reports
Wed - Science Ch5 Lesson4
Thurs - Math Division Sheet


In math, Monday and Tuesday are FSA Mid-year Scrimmage/Practice Test.  We looked over math tests Friday and reviewed the Monday.  Division will begin on Wednesday. We will only be using 1 digit divisors.  The strategies being taught include area models, array, and partial products.  There are great examples of these strategies on youtube.

In science we will be learning about thermal energy.  We will watch a Study Jams video, read the lesson together.  Watch a demo of radiation, conduction, and convection.  Wednesday will be an open book quiz over chapter 5 lessons 3 and 4.  Thursday students will complete a study guide and we will review it Friday.  The chapter 5 test will be Tuesday the 15th.

December 1 - 4

Welcome back!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Tues - Study for Math Test; 30 min I-Ready due by Friday; Math Superstars due Friday
Wed - Work on I-ready or Math Superstars
Thurs - Complete Science ch 5 lesson 3 book questions

In science we will be learning about wind and water energy.  We will watch a Brainpop, a Bill Nye video, and read/answer questions from chapter 5 lesson 3.
